Circular Future is a learning and sharing platform, that encourages and helps designers from different
disciplines to implement circular design principles and create. a circular future together!
Problem
The global economy has been dominated by the "take, make, dispose" model of production which has left us facing resources shortage and environmental collapse.
Designers from all disciplines, must consider product lifecycles more closely but they lack consistent, accessible ways to do this.
Process
After testing circular toolkits, as a designer, I found a lack of systematic guidance and they also fail to connect designers with one another.
I realised that implementing circular design is a challenge, that needs to be broken down for
designers from different disciplines. I used a process of prototyping and testing with student designers from different backgrounds in order to. identify a clear, accessible visual model and language.
Proposal
A visually-led toolkit and sharing platform, which associates the circular design with the product lifecycle, supports and encourages designers to use circular design principles and create a circular future together.
Using this platform, designers can learn but also can share their creative processes, ideas and experiences of circular design across disciplines.
